Mooncake Festival 2012 With Mid-Autumn Festival fast upon us, we've been busy buying packages of the tasty filled pastries for friends and family. A 3,000-year-old festival, mid-autumn is traditionally a time for togetherness and for many of us living and working in China, a great opportunity to travel. Because this vacation is packaged up with the longer National Day holiday, it's an extra long eight day break and the China Travel team will be dispersed across the globe on travels of our own. So whether you're jetting off to the wilds of Yunnan, setting out to explore one of China's great cities or visiting loved ones to celebrate the coming of the autumn moon, we'd like to wish you a wonderful holiday, a safe journey and a prosperous year to come. Want to know more about the history and traditions behind the holiday? Check out our Mid-Autumn Festival primer.
