Beijing, Chinese New Year, fireworks, Jonah Kessel Our buddy, nomadically curious visual journalist and Jonah Kessel has been keeping himself rather busy of late with his Beijing so in addition to his wider range of international work, we still get to enjoy his China musings and of course, all his stunning photography and video. Jonah was in Beijing for the Chinese New Year celebrations and along with fellow cameraman Paul Morris and journalist Kit Gillet, braved ricocheting rockets to catch the monumental firework fest on film. Check out the video after the jump! With regular Beijingers setting off all kinds of firepower and lighting up the night sky, in Jonah's own words it really is "a perfect visual representation of the overwhelming size of China’s population. This creates a unique organized display of chaos which lights up the sky and echoes through the streets of China." Head to Jonah's blog for the full post on the evening's events: VPN or proxy in China to check out the video both below and on his blog. Don't have one? Never fear, there's still time to win one of our nine remaining free annual Freedur VPN accounts!
