Shanghai Music China 2009 Expo: A musician's playground

Update: Legendary bassists T.M. Stevens (Miles Davis, James Brown, Cyndi Lauper, Tina Turner) and Jonas Hellborg (Mahavishnu Orchestra) will perform tomorrow afternoon at 12pm at the Warwick pavilion. Audiophiles, musos, aspiring producers, and sound and lighting techs rejoice! Music China 2009 instrument expo, China's largest, begins today, October 13th.

While Shanghai has a number of solid instrument shops on People's Square), Music China 2009 features displays and prototypes from many world-renowned manufacturers, including Warwick, Gibson, Electro-Harmonix, Taylor and D'Addario, making it the perfect place for potential buyers and collectors to come check out the latest gear, purchase hard-to-find items and pocket free schwag.

Located in Pudong at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC), Music China 2009 is just a 10 minute walk from the Longyang Lu Metro Station (Metro Line 2, 2345 Longyang Lu). Admission is FREE, however the first two days of the Expo are reserved for trade buyers, while Thursday and Friday are open to the public.
