The October holiday is just around the corner and many have already made their plans. If you haven't yet, you'd better get on it: plane and train tickets (and pretty much any other kind of ticket) are selling out! If you do happen to be a holiday planning laggard, fear not, Ctrip has still got some fantastic October holiday flight and hotel deals, as well as the skinny on the best hotels near China's most popular bar streets, so if you're planning to ring in China's 61st birthday with red cheeks and martini-fueled merriment, these deals might be a good bet. If you're having trouble figuring out what to do, have a look at articles by fellow China Travel writers Aimee Groom and Sascha Matuszak, they've interviewed both local and foreign men and women on the street to find out what their plans are. Besides being good reads, there's plenty there to seed the inspiration for terrific travel plans. Finally, if you've an inclination for fine dining and fantastic atmospheres, many of China's top 5-star hotels are pulling out all the stops to give you the best spas, rooms,  food and beverages at reasonable prices. Keep reading to find out if there are great promotions going on near you.... The InterContinental Sanya Resort, a gorgeous property featuring both villa and room accommodations, is currently offering special prices for exquisite pampering at its SPA InterContinental. 100 minute "Indulgence" treatments are now being offered at RMB1,050, and you can even bring the kids! 8-13 year-olds can accompany parents, get foot massages and refreshments for RMB 400. If you're lucky enough to work up an appetite on Sanya's picture-perfect beaches on a Saturday, you might also consider an all-you can eat buffet at Mediterraneo. RMB 398 affords you buffet access, free flow of beer or drinks, and a glass of red or white wine. In China's capital, the luxurious Kempinski Hotel Lufthansa Center is offering discounted rooms. Also on the discount menu: six fine Cantonese "pot-style dishes" being served in the hotel's Cathay Chinese Restaurant ranging from RMB 48-88. The Westin Guangzhou is celebrating the appointment of their new executive chef, 24-year veteran Chandana Devapura.
