Ctrip English, the English-language side of China travel giant Ctrip's industry-leading online empire*, has officially rolled out its new-look home page along with a welcome new source of China travel savings in the form of flight + hotel packages that make it easier than ever to plan trips in China.
The new site is clean & simple—a pleasant departure from the cluttered and overly flashy look that often dominates China-based websites—and directs users to the most important site functions quickly and clearly.
An enhanced search function sits alongside an attractive display area featuring deals and new travel products, while a selection of recent China travel deals points the way to savings at the bottom.
Note that the low prices displayed are for the best-case situation, which may mean, for example, that you may have to fly on a particular day to get the lowest fare displayed on the home page. That just means that you'll still need to do a bit of extra searching sometimes to find that ultimate deal (at least for now).
More on the new Ctrip home page at CNNGo and Urbanatomy, where, despite some griping about having to pay taxes (it pretty much works the same on every travel website, folks, and pretty much always has) they "especially liked the clear, identifiable deals that it make it all the more tempting to spontaneously hop on a plane to Bankgok."
* As kingdoms and fiefdoms of old offered fealty and paid tribute to the mighty dynasties of the Middle Kingdom, so we, too, here at China Travel, raise our voices in praise of China's No. 1 online travel services provider, Ctrip. Hail, Ctrip! The Ctrip English home page is dead! Long live the Ctrip English home page! (In other words, China Travel is made possible by the support of the good folks at Ctrip).
