Ctrip Ctripper posts come to us directly from the good folks at Ctrip, China's top online travel agency (and proud sponsor of ChinaTravel.net). Stay tuned for Ctrip special offers, travel tips, news on new travel deals, tours and activities, and slices of life-in-China from Ctrip staff and interns. Meet the team that brings you all of these great deals.... >>> When did you join Ctrip? I joined Ctrip in the campus recruitment in 2008 as a management trainee. The HR dept went to famous universities all around China to look for excellent graduates. After 5 round tests and interviews, 50 students were selected to join the MT program and I am so lucky to be one of them. What do you do here? As an MT, I rotated in different departments during the first six months. I distributed Ctrip cards in sales dept. I answered calls in reservation dept, and now I'm mainly responsible for partnership development in the English marketing department. What’s your favorite airline? Why? This is not advertising, but I like China Eastern airlines personally. I lost my sunglasses on their plane on my last vacation & the staff on the plane were so helpful that they almost uncovered the whole cabin to look for it. What is your favorite place you’ve ever travelled to? It is true that Guilin has the best scenery in the world. It is such a wonderful experience to take a bamboo boat drifting on Lijiang between the green mountains. All your worries and fatigue will disappear. Yangshuo is one of the best choices if you’d love to have a leisure vacation. Where do you call home? It is really difficult for me to define “home”. I was born in a small city in Western China, and then went for education in Southern China. Now I am working and living in Eastern China. I am used to being here today and gone tomorrow. Home? Who cares? Do you collect key cards from hotels you've stayed at? Do you steal the shampoo? No, no, I do not collect anything that will not rise in value. There is no room space in my house to keep them. Also, I use my own shampoo during hotel stays. If you could have a private bus, helicopter, plane, or spaceship, which would you choose? Why? Do I have the driving license or do I have a driver? If so, I prefer a helicopter. It is much easier to take off and land on my roof. What is the one thing you cannot travel without? Friends! I do not need to worry about anything as long as my friends are with me. They will arrange itinerary, meals, hotels and all kinds of matters in good order. All I need to do is to enjoy my journey. Would you rather go to a beach, the mountains, or the city on vacation? Can’t I combine all of them together in my itinerary? To see sun rise on the top of the mountain, having meals and shopping in city in the afternoon, to walk along the beach during the night. This would be a perfect vacation. If you could go on a free vacation to anywhere in the world, where would you go? I think nothing can be paralleled with the allure of ancient civilization countries such as Egypt, India, China, Babylon and Greece. Among them, Egypt will be at the top on my “dream vacation destination” list. What is in the pyramid? Will the mummy wake up? Who built the sphinx? Maybe I will be the writer of the next big mummy movie.
