Ctrip Ctripper posts come to us directly from the good folks at Ctrip, China's top online travel agency (and proud sponsor of ChinaTravel.net). Stay tuned for Ctrip special offers, travel tips, news on new travel deals, tours and activities, and slices of life-in-China from Ctrip staff and interns. Meet Kaela, our new intern, as she jumps into life in China .... >>> I make really ambitious New Year’s resolutions.  This year, I decided I would learn Chinese and set foot on three continents.  Two continents later, I find myself in Shanghai, the most bewildering and beautiful metropolis I’ve ever seen. I’m Kaela Mei-Shing Garvin, a California native who traded the Bay Area for New York to study drama. My mom’s side of the family is Chinese, and I’ve always wanted to be able to talk to my Po-Po (grandma) in Mandarin.  While some parts about China seem familiar and homey to me--I grew up on the tea eggs sold at every convenience store--this country constantly surprises and impresses me. In the next few months, I’m excited about exploring my culture and expanding my Chinese beyond just ordering those tea eggs.   I’ll be using my experiences to blog about travel in China on ChinaTravel.net’s China Travel Blog, as well as working on social media projects for Ctrip. I hope you’ll follow my adventures!
