Where the skyline looks like Disney World and buildings light up like pinball machines, the tofu comes with meat topping and I can eat for a day on less than a NYC cocktail costs. Is it Xanadu? No, just Shanghai.
My name is Becca Mondshein and I’m a student at New York University. This semester, some of my friends moved to Chinatown. I moved to China.
I’m no stranger to travel, but Shanghai is like everywhere and nowhere I’ve been before. During my four months here, I look forward to observing how a turbulent history and promising future collide in this fast-paced city. In addition to studying at East China Normal University, I’ll be working on social media and blogging at Ctrip. As a tall, blonde, blue-eyed girl, I can’t seem to walk down the street here without eyes following me. I hope you’ll follow me (here, on facebook, or on twitter) as I embark on this adventure!
