Star Trails over Holy Mountains in Tibet This amazing long exposure of the Meili Snow Mountains of northern Yunnan near the border with present-day Tibet makes it clear enough if it wasn't already why these peaks (and the skies above them) are held to be holy by Tibetan Buddhists.... The photo, by Flickr users and Ctrip China Travel Photo Contest entrant rovinglight, was taken using a 40-minute exposure in the Tibetan region of Changdu, also known as Chamdo, which is today part of Yunnan province.
