santa con beijing 2010 Bringing some costumed Christmas cheer to China's capital this past weekend, 11 December saw a bunch of foreigners participate in the annual Santa Claus convention known around the world as SantaCon. Gathering in Beijing, they apparently caused quite a stir with the police on Tian'anmen Square who were on high alert, what with the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony taking place over in Norway and all. Presumably they were under orders to be suspicious of anyone who might have "Scandinavian" origins... according to Steven Shaver over at UPI, the police ordered the group "to disperse and leave the square while also harassing foreign journalists, detaining one." Well, we know who's going to be on Santa's naughty list this year! More Santa Con photos on UPI.com
