Scott I Pollack_Jiuzhaigou

Photographer Scott Pollack has captured just one moment of the boundless and breathtaking beauty to be found in Sichuan's best know National Park, Jiuzhaigou, where the lake's cool turquoise waters reflect and enhance the riot of autumnal colors found up above.

(More after the jump... )

This verdant green valley, filled with cascading waterfalls and crystal clear pools is one of China's favorite destinations and it's not hard to see why. With the growing number of visitors it's also not surprising that exploring independently is more regulated than it once was (just ask Sascha Matuszak about his trip to Jiuzhaigou in 2001), but it's actually been very well managed and despite the large numbers of tourists, it's still possible to get away from it all and lose yourself for an hour or two beside a babbling brook.

For more of Scott Pollack's photography, check out his other entries to the Ctrip China Travel Photo Contest on Flickr.

Public voting will take place on the contest vote page from 28 February to 14 March. With one vote per day throughout this two week period, be sure to vote early and often! Vote for the same photo each time, or, if you can’t make up your mind, spread the love. The decision is yours—but be sure to use your votes wisely! The top 10 vote-getters will then go on to face our professional travel photographer judges, Jonah Kessel, Tom Carter and Luca Locatelli, who will make the final call.
