We stumbled upon this one thanks to Chongqing city site that posted notice a few weeks ago that photographer Matthew Niederhauser had been in town shooting Chongqing for a photo essay published alongside Foreign Policy's piece on "the biggest city you've never heard of." Chongqing Opera House (Photo by Matthew Niederhauser) Above, an image of the Chongqing Opera House—hardly architecture on a human scale, but impressive enough in its own titanic fashion. Find more of Niederhauser's work on his website; his thoughts on his Chongqing project can be found here. "Chongqing is easily one of China's (if not the world’s) greatest experiment in urbanization," he notes, and we're certainly not going to argue with that.
